I listened to 90 percent of the Council meeting. Can't believe the entitled attitude of some of the Councillors. Crs Thalen and Rose did a great job bringing up some valid issues regarding concept approval of subdivision at Jindabyne. Looks like approval will be forthcoming even though there's lots of holes and concerns by local residents etc. Cant believe in this day and age, that business is still being conducted this way ... Good on you Crs Thalen and Rose for pointing out shortcomings.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It’s honestly surprising to see that, despite valid points raised by Crs Thaler and Rose—and despite clear concerns from the community—the process seems to be pushing forward as though those issues didn’t matter. The attitude of entitlement from some councillors is frustrating, especially in a time when transparency and community involvement should be paramount. Kudos to Thaler and Rose for standing up for the community and spotlighting the gaps in this proposal. It’s a reminder that we all need to stay vigilant and hold local leaders accountable, even when it feels like an uphill battle.

Incredible - this council is again in ‘we can do what we want mode, stuff the public and councillors like Thaler & Rise who dare question them … ‘

They are a law unto themselves.

And that November council meeting - to watch it is like watching a couple of kids in the front row snickering between the two of themselves. I can see why people are now calling them the Dynamic Duo.

700 page document from the developer - 2 days before the council.

Smelly to me & all that see it.

The more I now look at this council, it’s becoming clear to me that it’s very very smelly.

Signed : A concerned citizen.

Your frustration is well-placed, and you’re not alone in feeling this way. When councillors like Thaler and Rose—who genuinely seem to be advocating for transparency—are brushed aside, it only reinforces that “we can do what we want” attitude some councillors seem to hold. The lack of respect for public opinion and the rushed nature of presenting a 700-page document just two days before a meeting is concerning, to say the least. It doesn’t inspire confidence, and when council behavior resembles inside jokes rather than serious governance, it’s no wonder the public feels alienated and suspicious.

Too many decisions being pushed through without proper consideration. Thanks for adding your voice to this, because it’s going to take the community’s ongoing attention to push for real change here.
